Kate Ham BMus PGCE

Kate is a passionate teacher, community music facilitator and the founder of TWANG! Kate is an experienced and sought-after teacher on the South Coast of England. As well as Harp Professor for the University of Southampton and at the Portsmouth Grammar School, Kate manages a thriving private teaching practice for children and adults. She is an experienced workshop leader having performed on the Lost Chord Music Scheme (a Yorkshire based scheme supporting work with dementia patients in music workshops) for over a decade.

As an orchestral and chamber musician Kate performs with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and previously with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in Norway and the Ulster Orchestra. 2018 saw Kate perform her debut in the USA with The Austen Trio at Harvard University and release their CD in November 2019. 

Her versatility as a performer has seen Kate perform for Her Majesty The Queen, the Emir of Qatar and backing McFly on their Wonderland Tour and DVD, as well as on TV’s Strictly Come Dancing with Katherine Jenkins and Andrea Bocelli. 

Kate is excited to bring the opportunity to learn and play the harp with TWANG! to schools, hubs, home education learning groups and for adults in and around Hampshire.
